Center for Human Rights

The Center for Human Rights (CHR) seeks to integrate principles of equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, and fairness and equity into all academic and employment activities and practices throughout Washington State University.

CHR investigates all complaints of discrimination and sexual harassment, advises on appropriate management of such issues. CHR works closely with faculty, staff, students, professionals in law, human resources, and conflict resolution.

Center for Teaching, Learning & Technology (CTLT)

The Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology at WSU serves as a resource for anyone who teaches in our campus community. The Center offers free one-on-one consultations for all kinds of teaching and learning topics, including course and assignment design, classroom strategies, assessment and evaluation, online learning, facilitating discussions and student engagement, and more. Their assessment experts are experienced in collaborating with WSU instructors to design and develop publishable research projects on teaching and learning.

Copy Centers

Cougar Copies (University Publications and Printing) has three locations:

Compton Union Building On-the-spot copying, color copies, copying of class reserve items, fax service, binding, class overheads, laminating, and resume paper

Cooper Publications Building Volume copying, tape binding, booklet production, digital network copier

Counseling Services

Confidential individual counseling and consultation; counseling, support, and topic-related groups; outreach programs and workshops

Disability Resource Center

Provides accommodations for students with documented disabilities. Services include transportation, oral exams,  extended exams, audio textbooks, sign language interpreters, note takers, and large print exams and materials, and more.

Human Relations And Educational Services

Information Technology

Information Technology (IT) provides telephone, computing, data networking, graphics services and instructional media support for students, faculty and staff at WSU.

Student Computing Services (SCS); 335-HELP; ITB 2071, operates the student HelpDesk which provides computing, network, and dial-in support, as well as, on-campus lab facilities open to all students

Academic Media Services (AMS) offers technical support for video conferencing, classroom technologies, along with equipment for multimedia projects.

Intensive American Language Center (IALC)

Prepares international students and community members to communicate in English and to study in American colleges and universities through regular ESL session and special programs. Coordinates international teaching assistant evaluations. 

International Programs

If you are an international student or accompanying family members International Programs has information regarding U.S. government regulations, which includes immigration, the Naturalization Service, and the Department of State. 

Libraries

The WSU Libraries  maintains over 7 million books, journals, films, videotapes, newspapers, microfilms, technical reports, maps, manuscripts, art prints, and photographs in a variety of print, electronic, multimedia and micro-formats.

Ombudsman

The ombudsman serves as an independent, impartial official to help resolve problems that may arise in university programs.

Registrar’s Office

The Office of the Registrar assists with registration and enrollment changes; prepares and distributes student grade reports; interprets and enforces all academic regulations and rules; prepares and publishes final exam schedules; monitors academic eligibility for student athletes; schedules university classrooms and various other needs.

Student Advising and Learning Center (SALC)

The SALC provides academic advising and advisor training; administers learning support programs including tutoring, workshops, resource library, referral to other services; works with academic departments and other programs to enhance campus-wide advising and learning services.

Student Affairs

The Office of Student Affairs provides leadership in the development and coordination of services and programs like extracurricular services, programs, university policies and procedures that affect students; student conduct, student handbook, and enrollment cancellation.

Tutoring Information

Lighty 260T The Peer Tutorial Program provides a one-on-one tutorial or small group tutoring. It provides tutors in all subject areas where students feel a need. Students must follow a mandatory application process in order to get a peer tutor. Applications may be acquired electronically. Each form must be printed out and brought to the SALC tutoring window. Tutors are assigned when the applications are received. 

Writing Lab

Provides free peer tutoring in a relaxed atmosphere to undergraduates and graduate students (both native and nonnative speakers for all phases of the writing process); Offers online tutoring at http://owl.wsu.edu; Schedules students for English 102 and Gen. Ed. 302 and offers support for faculty in creating writing assignments.
